July 2nd ROCKIE RICKS AND FRIENDS
Although Rockie has a PhD in electrical engineering, he took
opportunities to perform and accompany on piano and organ, and to compose and
arrange music. After retiring, he returned his focus to music and earned a BA
in music from USU. One of his compositions took third place in the 2023 Utah
Music Teacher's Association composition contest. He has performed in Utah,
Idaho, and Southern California. He can perform in a wide variety of genres, but
prefers classical, jazz, and show tunes. He has a special way of putting
feeling into his music.
