These students will perform a variety of selections from classical repertoire, show tunes and contemporary literature.
The Young Artist Cup is a music competition held each spring that allows students at Mountain Crest High School to display their talent and compete for trophies and cash prizes.  Students compete in five musical categories; Female Vocal, Male Vocal, Piano, Strings and Brass/Wind/Percussion.   The Young Artist Cup is privately sponsored and organized by a committee of community volunteers with the support of Mountain Crest High School.  2016 was the 17th year for this event.

CHRIS MORTENSEN



Chris Mortensen is a seasoned performer, having played music for most of his life. Starting at 13 years old, in his older brother's band, Chris has played bass guitar in many top local bands through the years. These days, Chris performs as a solo act, singing and playing guitar at many of the cowboy gatherings throughout the Intermountain West. 

Chris is currently President of the Utah Chapter of the Western Music Association, and 1st Vice President of the Cowboy Poets of Utah. Chris has many compelling original songs that are always well received at his performances. He has also played as a sideman on bass for the Celtic Band, Leaping Lulu; with the trio, Saddle Serenade, and with some of his experienced musician friends in Gramps With Amps.

OLD LYRIC REPERTORY COMPANY


Come enjoy actors and singers as they preview the 2016 Lyric Repertory Season.  Shows this year include: Arsenic and Old Lace, Baskerville, Singing' In the Rain and You Can't Take It With You.  You will see everything from comedy, suspense, to an old Hollywood classic and hilarious slapstick.  There is something for everyone!

RYAN FRAZIER & FRIENDS



Ryan  is a soloist, collaborator, jazz pianist and teacher currently working on a computer science degree.   Emma  plays the piano, guitar, organ, violin and ukulele.  Both of them hold Master's degrees in piano and are parents to four children.  
Anna Lisa Davidson is an active flute teacher, adjudicator and performer with a Bachelor's degree in music.  Active in Girl Scouting she also holds a first-degree black belt! 
Cellist, Alexis Haviland will join them for their performance.

THE CONCERT AND LECTURE SERIES IS SPONSORED BY  CACHE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AN INTERFAITH AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION, AND IS ALSO SPONSORED IN PART BY THE RAPZ TAX.  THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ALLOWS FREE USE OF THE HISTORIC LOGAN TABERNACLE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
