Logan High String Quartets

Logan High School Chamber orchestra became an official class in the school schedule in the fall of 2021 when the Philharmonic orchestra grew too large to fit into the orchestra room. Students audition for the elite orchestra and rehearse daily in the smaller chamber orchestra and in four different string quartets. Playing chamber music requires special skills, both musical and social, that differ from the skills required for playing solos or symphonic works.

Westminster Bell Choir

Ringing 5 octaves of English handbells, the Westminster Bell Choir has shared decades of music with the Cache Valley community.  Sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church, the bell choir is an ecumenical group, composed of ringers from various Christian faiths.  Seeking to uplift, unite, and bring joy to the community through music is their purpose.  They ring in church services and community events throughout the valley.

Olaveson Family

Kurt and Michelle grew up playing music together in their hometown.  They studied music in college, though Kurt pursued a career in medicine and is a family physician in Cache Valley, and Michelle is a registered nurse. Now married with four little girls who all love to make music as well, the house is never quiet! Vivian, Elsie, and Liesel started playing the violin when they were four years old, and Jorja does her best to keep up, imitating them all.  With a mix of violins, vocals, and piano, they will be sharing some beloved Christmas favorites, as if giving a concert from their own home.

THE CONCERT AND LECTURE SERIES IS SPONSORED BY  CACHE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AN INTERFAITH AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION, AND IS ALSO SPONSORED IN PART BY THE RAPZ TAX.  THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ALLOWS FREE USE OF THE HISTORIC LOGAN 1ST/2ND LDS WARDHOUSE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
