Come enjoy professional opera performers as they give you an introduction into the 2019 season.  This year shows will include:  Mary Poppins, Newsies, West Side Story, the Marriage of Figaro, Bravo Caruso and Master Class.  Come early to get a good seat because the Tabernacle fills early on Mondays!



Tuesday July 9, 12 pm

USU Music Dept. Alumni

Alumni from the music department at Utah State University will perform a recital of "No Dead White Guys." The composers represented include female composers, living composers, Asian American Composers, and African American composers. Performers include Brady Pope, Kylee Fullmer, Camille Weber, Sarah Hamatake, Brynn Vance, Ethan Seegmiller, McKenzie Clawson, Eric Walker, and Mallory Todd.  Will be not only unusual, perfected!

Jessica Roderer, USU Faculty Pianist

Jessica Roderer’s performances are “rich in emotion and dramatic passion”, The Deseret Morning News. Jessica graduated from USU in piano performance, and went on to earn a  doctorate from University of Southern California.   She has been on the piano faculty at Utah State University for the past few years and has recently accepted an offer to start teaching at BYU-Idaho as a full-time piano faculty member beginning in the fall. Superior teacher as we as performer!  Not to be missed!

Old Lyric Repertory Theater
Lyric Repertory Company is a summer theatre company in residence at Utah State University, operating in the Caine Lyric Theatre, Morgan Theatre, and Black Box Theatre.  Shows this season include:  Raisin in the Sun, Mamma Mia, Clybourne Park, Murder for Two, the Great Society and Size Matters.  Performers from the shows will share their talents.  Always outstanding!

Fry Street Quartet
This group is phenomenal!  It has been hailed as "a triumph of ensemble playing" by the New York Times – is a multi-faceted ensemble taking chamber music in new directions. Since securing the Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the quartet has reached audiences from Carnegie Hall to London, and Sarajevo to Jerusalem.  Superb!

The Seegmiller Duo
Piano & Violin
Siblings Brynn Vance and Ethan Seegmiller present some of their favorite 'underplayed' works for violin and piano. Come and enjoy pieces by Stravinsky, Elgar, Mendelssohn, and Pärt and discover music you didn't know you liked. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho they both pursued music degrees from Utah State University in piano and violin performance respectively, and went on to get their Masters degrees in music performance at Utah State and Arizona State University.  This will be a treat!

THE CONCERT AND LECTURE SERIES IS SPONSORED BY  CACHE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AN INTERFAITH AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION, AND IS ALSO SPONSORED IN PART BY THE RAPZ TAX.  THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ALLOWS FREE USE OF THE HISTORIC LOGAN TABERNACLE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
