Come enjoy professional opera performers as they give you an introduction into the 2019 season.  This year shows will include:  Mary Poppins, Newsies, West Side Story, the Marriage of Figaro, Bravo Caruso and Master Class.  Come early to get a good seat because the Tabernacle fills early on Mondays!

Mountain Crest/Ridgeline High Schools
Young Artists Cup Winners 2019
Outstanding winners from 2 two high schools in Cache Valley will blow you away with their musical talents.  The creme de la creme!!  You will hear vocal, piano, violin, alto sax and trombone music--and everything from classical to pop will be shared. This concert is not to be missed!

Piano vs. Banjo
Lezlee Monroe and Jordan Snow are an outstanding combination.  Lezlee is a talented composer and arranger.  Jordan is a natural talent that has performed with a number of celebrity performers including Earl Scruggs (composer of the Beverly Hillbillies song).  Dueling Guitars (piano/banjo) and Foggy Mountain Breakdown with be among some of the toe-tapping songs performed.

Musicality (Women's Voices)
Join Musicality for an upbeat concert of classic oldies, love songs, patriotic numbers and everything in-between! Personal stories highlight the impact music has on our lives and gives a unique touch to this group's talented presentation. Violin, flute, tamborine and piano accompainment add to the fun and energy Musicality generates during their performances.

Vocal & Piano
Cristina Edlund and Irv Nelson are a vocalist/piano duo whose repertoire includes classic songs from across the decades. Cristina’s silky voice and Irv’s expressive accompaniment meld to create a delightful aural delicacy. You won’t want to miss this concert; each year it is one of the audience favorites of the summer series.

Rebecca McFaul (FryStreet Violinist)
Elzbieta Bilocka (Polish Pianist)

Polish pianist, Elzbieta Bilicka has recently arrived in Logan and will be joined by Fry Street Quartet violinist and professor Rebecca McFaul in recital.  The program includes Sergei Prokofiev’s sparkling Sonata in D Major, Op. 94a for violin and piano.  Ms. Bilicka will then take the stage alone for Beethoven's extraordinary Piano Sonata no. 32 in C Minor, Op. 111. The recital will close with a short, beautiful Nocturne composed by Lili Boulanger in 1911.  Outstanding musicians!

Week One, Summer Concert Series May 27 to May 31

CACHE COMMUNITY WIND SYMPHONY

Cache Community Band has been making music since 1976. The Wind Symphony is comprised of amateur musicians from around Cache Valley. They are delighted to be able to share their love for music with our community. We will have a little something for everyone, from rousing marches to movie soundtracks to familiar show tunes. Always great toe-tapping music!

                              FRAZIERS AND FRIENDS

This is Ryan and Emma Frazier’s fifth year playing together in the Tabernacle series. They both have piano performance degrees from USU. Ryan is a software engineer at Space Dynamics Lab, and their five children keep Emma hopping. They are joined this year by Catherine Wells who has a degree from USU in clarinet performance. They will be playing classical piano and clarinet works by Liszt, Brahms, Ligeti, and Finzi.

EMILY EZOLA
USU FACULTY PIANIST

Emily Ezola is a member of the USU Piano Faculty where she directs the Youth Conservatory and teaches several music courses and private piano instruction for the college and pre-college level.  This program will include a wide variety of music including a duo performance of Saint-Saen's Carnival of the Animals with Dr. Kevin Olson, the epic 'Vallee D'obermann'  from Liszt Years of Pilgrimage, and music from Nintendo's Mario written by Koji Kondo.

SUNDANCE TRIO
BYU WOODWIND FACULTY


We are delighted that Sundance Trio is joining us again for the SummerNoon Concert Series.  Hailing from BYU they are all favorite professors there.  They will be performing works written for oboe, bassoon and piano. They will also include a few arrangements of hymns, folk songs and movie themes. This mix of styles will appeal to a broad audience.  Not to be missed!

THE BAND DOWN YONDER
BLUEGRASS BAND

The Band Down Yonder is a group of all-around great folks who have been playing together for six years.  They began as a collection of family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. They feature old time mountain music. A lot of the songs are about trains, but they'll play any song they think is a catchy tune, and tint it with a little bluegrass.  Their music appeals to all ages!  Come and enjoy!

BLOOMBERG FAMILY SINGERS

Bloomberg Family Singers take their audience on a journey from musical theater to pop to kids' music to inspirational to original songs.  Having lived and performed in four countries on three different continents together the Blombergs may throw in a foreign language or two in the program.  Come and enjoy the Bloomberg Family Singers.
