WEEK SIX

Monday, July 1,  12 pm

Come enjoy professional opera performers as they give you an introduction into the 2019 season.  This year shows will include:  Mary Poppins, Newsies, West Side Story, the Marriage of Figaro, Bravo Caruso and Master Class.  Come early to get a good seat because the Tabernacle fills early on Mondays!



Tuesday, July 2, 12 pm

Ben Alder, Organist
Ben was born in St. George, the son of Scott and Betsy Alder. and grandson of Doug and Elaine Alder, formerly of Logan.  In October 2015 Ben was a guest of former Salt Lake Tabernacle organist Dr. Robert Cundick.  He has also performed at the Paris Tabernacle in Idaho, Brigham City, Utah and the St. George Tabernacle and he is back for another repeat performance in the Logan Tabernacle.  Talented young man!  Don't miss it!

Rockie Ricks and Friends
Rockie (pianist, organist, arranger, and composer) is one of the most magical and unforgettable performers in Cache Valley. In addition to piano and organ, this performance will feature local talent, family musicians, holiday commemorations, a gripping vocal ensemble and a fun string orchestra.  For 31 years Rockie served in the Navy as a Ph D  Electrical Engineer.  Recently he returned to Cache Valley to pursue  a Bachelor of Arts in Music emphasizing composition.  He does it all!  


Thursday, July 4, 12 pm
Karla Axtell, Organ and Piano
Karla Axtell, pianist and organist,  received her bachelor of music degree with piano emphasis from Utah State University and has accompanied numerous community events and soloists.  She is currently a rehearsal accompanist for the American Festival Chorus under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop.  She  will be performing mainly on the organ featuring  American Folk Hymn Tunes and favorite patriotic works.  The Finale of the program will feature Jonathan Rose, organist, as a duet with Karla in John Phillip Sousa’s, “The Stars and Stripes Forever”!




Friday July 5, 12 pm


Emily and Harold Heap
Both accomplished musicians with several degrees in music, father and daughter combo,  Harold and Emily Heap will share their wonderful talents with us with vocals from Emily to talented organ solos and accompaniments from Harold.  Both are repeat performers on the Tabernacle noon concerts.

USU Faculty Piano Trio

Come out and enjoy the epic Tchaikovsky piano trio in A minor performed by Dr Jessica Roderer, piano; Megan Richards, cello; and Will Shackleton, violin. "Outstanding, accomplished, gifted"- all describe this amazing trio. Not to be missed!

THE CONCERT AND LECTURE SERIES IS SPONSORED BY  CACHE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AN INTERFAITH AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION, AND IS ALSO SPONSORED IN PART BY THE RAPZ TAX.  THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ALLOWS FREE USE OF THE HISTORIC LOGAN TABERNACLE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
