6:30 Cache Homeschool Choir Christmas Concert, "Peace at Christmastime"

Choir consisting of 30 children and youth ages 8 to 17. Carols sung in Italian, German, and Latin.

USU Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Logan Tabernacle Concert & Lecture Series, is pleased to host a special Fall Concert, “USU Symphony Orchestra: Song & Dance” entertainment for the whole family in downtown Logan on Friday, October 12, 2018, beginning at 7pm. 

Join the USU Symphony Orchestra and guests for an evening of European folk-inspired favorites, featuring USU faculty soprano Venicia Wilson, the Young Musicians from St. Thomas Aquinas, and members from the Mountain West String Academy. Enjoy this delightful event for the whole family!  Music by  Brahms, Dvořák, Bartók, Bach, and others.

Cache Community Connections (CCC), is commemorating its founding with a wonderful evening at the Logan Tabernacle on Friday, September 14, 7pm.  Free admission and all are welcome!  

Continuing with our theme of bringing together our communities and welcoming all, we are focusing on those who have joined us from different countries and cultures.  The music will be wonderfully energizing and uplifting, and the speakers will enlighten and inspire.

Alina Brown will be performing a mix of original material, classic love songs, fun pop hits, and multiple genre songs with a twist. You will hear her accompany herself on the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and piano. Alina will be a freshman at Utah State University in the fall.

                             DEBBIE DITTON SINGERS
Debbie Ditton has been teaching voice lessons in Cache Valley for 23 years. She has a private voice studio and has vocal directed for Music Theatre West, Pickleville Playhouse and Cache Community Theatre.   She received her BFA in Musical Dance Theatre from Brigham Young University, where she taught for three years before coming to the Valley.

Jeff Karren will be showcasing the Logan Tabernacle organ, which has provided music to Cache Valley and its citizens for over 100 years. The program will include music to delight both organ aficionados and casual listeners, featuring both classical favorites and organ masterworks, as well as hymn preludes and some other fun surprises.

LEE FAMILY PIANISTS
BRANDON, SHERILYN, AND SHANNON
The Lee Family Pianists make a return to the Cache Valley stage for a concert filled with duets and trios taken from various genres of music, including classical, jazz, blues,Latin, patriotic, and movie themes.  After moving to Logan in 1998, they quickly began studies at Utah State University.  Collectively they have had performing opportunities throughout the country, both in solo and collaborative settings.

DAD'S RANCH HAND BAND
Dad's Ranch Hand Band is the Dale Major Family from Avon, Utah.  They perform classic western music. They have performed extensively and are the principal hosts of the Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous held each year in March. Members of the group (who are still living at home) will include Erin and Jake on vocals, fiddle   and bass.  Dale will be there to keep the pace and things under control!  A lot of Western fun!

Old Lyric Repertory Company

The Lyric Repertory Company is a Small Professional Theatre that produces 4 shows in rolling rep each summer in the historic Caine Lyric Theatre. USU FACULTY PIANIST

Jessica Roderer’s performances are “rich in emotion and dramatic passion”, The Deseret Morning News.  She graduated from the University of Southern California with her Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance. She has had vast experience with not only performing but composing, arranging and teaching privately as well as in the classroom at USU.   This will be another amazing concert!

FIRST ART SINGERS

The First Arts Singers are based on the idea that the first art we experience in life is our mothers singing to us.  This new community chamber choir sings mostly unaccompanied arrangements.  Members include top vocal talent from Box Elder and Cache Counties, including American Festival Chorus and former Mormon Tabernacle Choir singers. Rollicking gospel to emotional supplication songs will be performed.

Once again Miho Everitt will be presenting a combination of talented musicians including herself.   Miho born in Japan,  studied and performed there and continued on to a master's degree in Piano Performance.  Allyson holds a degree in flute performance and has been performing for 30 years and is the business manager for the Caine College of the Arts.  Lucas, 15 years old is a budding violinist and will be a sophomore at SkyView High School this fall.  Rachel, 16 a junior at Hillcrest High School has won numerous awards and performed with several symphonies.  Many accomplished performers for us to enjoy!  They will be playing songs from different cultures (Jewish,Celtic & Japanese) and patriotic songs with  violin, flute, piano.

SUSAN BAKER AND FRIENDS

Susan Baker, soprano, has performed for many years in Southern California and Utah in both musical theatre and opera. She has sung everything from La Boheme to the national anthem at Dodgers and Clippers games. Lisa Budge, accompanist and soloist, has a degree in music and performs with the American Festival Chorus as well as Sisters in Song.  Lauren Shanley, accompanist, holds a degree in vocal performance and has been a voice and piano teacher for over twenty years.  She has performed with numerous musical professional groups in the valley.  Talented women presenting a superb hour of marvelous music!

LORI PULOTU
VOCAL

Singer/songwriter Lorisa Pulotu began her carrier in 2007 singing and preforming with her daughter, Elora (who is her pianist). In 2012 she released her first album, Crimson Sky. She has performed in many cities and in 2012 she and her daughter preformed with youtube sensation Alex Boye at the Kent Concert Hall.  She is an outstanding repeat performer on the Tabernacle Noon Concerts

When you combine the teaching of students by the Fry Street Quartet with talented youth wanting to excel you get a winning combination.  The Fry Street Quartet world famous will share with us the top students of their recent music festival.   It will be an extraordinary concert!

TUESDAY, JULY 10, 2018
                                          EMILY EZOLA and FRIENDS
WHICH WILL INCLUDE: 
KARLA AXTELL, KEVIN OLSEN & JESSE MASSEY
This concert will be amazing!  Emily Ezola holds a master's degree in piano performance and pedagogy from USU and serves as director of the Youth Conservatory there.   Karla Axtell, organist, pianist did another earlier, outstanding concert in the summer on the Tabernacle series.  Kevin Olsen has a degree in piano performance and is on the faculty at USU.  Jesse Massy, age 26 has already achieved notoriety worldwide and has established notoriety as one of America's most exciting young artists!

RELATIVE VOICES
The Relative Voices will present a program of delightful variety, performing popular Broadway songs and folk tunes to classical favorites. Singers are Michael Bailey, Natalie Bailey Burningham, and Betty Hammond, and they will be accompanied by Merrilee Broadbent. This year's concert will feature duets with the guitar and also debut Austin Harris. The Relative Voices are singers who are related to one another. They each bring extensive experience, having performed in a variety of venues and places.

                                           BEN ALDER
                                             ORGANIST
Ben was born in St. George, the son of Scott and Betsy Alder. His grandparents are Doug and Elaine Alder, formerly of Logan.  In October 2015 Ben was a guest of former Salt Lake Tabernacle organist Dr. Robert Cundick.  This was a highlight in his life thus far. Other venues Ben has played in are the Paris Tabernacle in Idaho and Brigham City, Utah and back for another repeat performance in the Logan Tabernacle.  He has given quarterly recitals on the Saturday noon programs in the St. George Tabernacle for the past two years. Talented young man.  Don't miss it!

                                   The 50'S- 70'S POPS
Consisting of veteran musicians Irv Nelson, Scott Olsen, and Steve Roberts, Relic Acoustic Band is unplugged arrangements of favorites from the great artists of the 1960s and 1970s. Their sound is fresh and their performance is entertaining.  With three acoustic guitars and tight three-part harmonies, Relic is great entertainment, with a personable stage style. Don’t miss this chance to hear one of the most enjoyable acts in the valley!

                  SALT LAKE LETTER CARRIERS BAND
                        Jazz, Patriotic, Marches, Western Music

The Salt Lake Letter Carriers Band was organized in 1924 to represent the letter carriers of Salt Lake and the National Association of Letter carriers. At that time there were over 35 Bands but the number has since dwindled to about 6. At present this band is the largest amongst the remaining bands still in existence.  They have performed  at NALC conventions throughout the US. They also have participated in parades and other concerts throughout Utah and Idaho.  They not only deliver an awesome concert but you might also find them on any given day delivering your mail!

TUESDAY, JULY 3, 2018
KENADI DODDS & SADIE MORTENSEN
Kenadi Dodds and Sadie Mortensen are amazing young singer/guitarists who dazzle audiences with a wide variety of classic songs.  You don’t want to miss this performance!


Kenadi Dodd, 13 years old,  plays guitar and piano and has sung the national anthem for the Jazz, the Bees, the Stars, the Aggies, and the Monster Jam. She has also opened for national country music acts, some of whom have told her she is the next Carrie Underwood.

Sadie Mortensen, 14 years old, sings and plays guitar  and has a unique blend of indie-pop and soul although she sings many types of music.  Talented young women way beyond their years!

Ryan Frazier balances a varied career as a soloist, collaborator, jazz pianist and teacher and is currently working on a Computer Science degree. Emma Frazier   plays piano, guitar, organ and violin and mothers four active children  in her spare time.   Ryan and Emma both hold Masters degrees in piano performance.  Always a delightful concert!

The Lyric Repertory Company is a small professional theatre that produces 4 shows in rolling rep each summer in the historic Caine Lyric Theatre. The 2018 summer season includes Sense and Sensibility, Peter and the Starcatcher, Grey Gardens, and Macbeth. Always a summer highlight in Cache Valley. They will perform selections from the summer season.  Always excellent!

                        FRYSTREET STRING QUARTET
This group is phenomenal!  It has been hailed as "a triumph of ensemble playing" by the New York Times – is a multi-faceted ensemble taking chamber music in new directions. Touring music of the masters as well as exciting original works from visionary composers of our time, the Fry Street Quartet has perfected a "blend of technical precision and scorching spontaneity" (The Strad). Since securing the Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the quartet has reached audiences from Carnegie Hall to London, and Sarajevo to Jerusalem, exploring the medium of the string quartet and its life-affirming potential with "profound understanding...depth of expression, and stunning technical astuteness" (Deseret Morning News).
