Lori Pulotu
Karaoke Singer

Singer/songwriter Lorisa Pulotu began her carrier in 2007 singing and preforming with her daughter, Elora. In 2012 she released her first album, Crimson Sky. Since then she has released a Country album, a Christmas Album, and several singles. She has preformed all over Utah and parts of Idaho. Some of her performances include the Kimball Arts Festival in Park City, the American Heritage Center, Brigham Young Historical park, Temple Square, Freedom Fire Celebration with the American Festival Chorus, The Complex (SLC), and the Utah State Fair. In 2012 she and her daughter preformed with youtube sensation Alex Boye at the Kent Concert Hall. 

Lorisa was born in Provo, Utah and is the third child of eight in the Brazzeal family. She began piano lessons at ten and joined the school elementary choir, but it would be several decades before she realized her musical abilities. She attended Brigham Young University Hawaii, where she obtained a degree in Home and Family Development and Early Childhood Education. She is the mother of five and has a great love for family.

Bradley Ottesen is the violist of the internationally acclaimed Fry Street Quartet. He holds the position of Associate Professor of Professional Practice at Utah State University, and currently serves as the President of the Utah Viola Society.

Dr. Mayumi Matzen holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Kyoto City University of Arts (Japan), and both a Masters and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music where she was a student of esteemed piano pedagogue Douglas Humpherys. She maintains an active career as a recitalist and soloist at the national and international level, and is currently adjunct professor of piano at Utah State University.

Rising Musical Stars of Cache Valley
Outstanding young musical performers from Cache Valley will be showcased today.  There will be 3 pianists, David Ban, Andrew Israelsen, Dohoon; 2 vocalists Nate Bohman and Nicole Christensen and a violinist.  

 Nicole Christensen is a longtime musician.  Beginning vocal lessons at the age of 8, her training varies from classical to pop music and many other styles.  Her favorite musical theater experience was with the Utah Festival Opera Company, where she participated in the ensemble of Porgy and Bess.

Nathan Bohman lives in Hyde Park and is going to be a senior at Green Canyon Cove high school. He has enjoyed performing since the age of four. He recently had the opportunity to play Sebastian in the Little Mermaid at Sky View High School and will next be seen in the ensemble of Four Seasons Theatre's production of Hello Dolly.  The Italian song he's singing today earned him superior ratings at both region and state. Nate is a natural when it comes to comedic timing and makes everyone around him crack up on a regular basis.

Melissa Jensen & Friend

 Melissa studied vocal performance at BYU and the Manhattan School of Music.  She has won many state, National, and International Vocal Competitions during her competitive career; including BYU Singer of the Year, Metropolitan Opera Utah competition, and the Classical singer competition. She has also performed with orchestras such as the Utah Symphony. Melissa is known for presenting a bold mixture of musical genres, humor, and full-hearted acting.

Mountain Crest Young Artists
Hyrum, Utah
These students will perform a variety of selections from classical repertoire, show tunes and contemporary literature. The Young Artist Cup is a music competition held each spring that allows students at Mountain Crest High School to display their talent and compete for trophies and cash prizes.  Students compete in five musical categories; Female Vocal, Male Vocal, Piano, Strings and Brass/Wind/Percussion.   The Young Artist Cup is privately sponsored and organized by a committee of community volunteers with the support of Mountain Crest High School.  2016 was the 18th year for this event.

Jeff Karren will be showcasing the Logan Tabernacle organ, which has provided music to Cache Valley and its citizens for over 100 years. The program will include music to delight both organ aficionados and casual listeners, featuring both classical favorites and organ masterworks, as well as hymn preludes and some other fun surprises. Wednesday's performance will also feature a special appearance by vocalist Emily Mower (flower) who currently performs in the Four Seasons Theatre Company's production of Tarzan.

 Join talented performers from the 50th Anniversary 2017 Lyric season as they showcase this year's shows.  Last year's attendees chose their favorite shows over the years and the winners were:      The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Big River, Wait Until Dark and The Foreigner.  Each year's shows are superb!  A Cache Valley treasure!

The 4 Hims
Men's Quartet

The award-winning vocal quartet The 4 Hims uniquely blends barbershop, a cappella, and instrumental music with zany humor that reviewers have called "fantastic" and "hilariously entertaining." The group consists of four Edwards brothers: David (the deep), Alan (the lead), Farrell (ruggedly handsome), and John (can we please do it in a lower key?). Based in Davis County, The 4 Hims’ energetic presence has won them fans of all ages throughout the Wasatch Front. Also featured will be Just Cuz, an upcoming barbershop group related to the 4 Hims.  This will be a concert to remember!

The Broadbent Family
The Broadbents are delighted to be performing at the tabernacle this year.  They are a talented family who share their gifts with joy and enthusiasm.  Merrilee, who began playing piano at age 3, is the pianist, and arranger.  Richard, is a seasoned performer with a deep rich baritone voice.  Michelle has performance degrees from several universities and has performed in Europe, South America, and the western United States.  Her gorgeous voice and versatility will touchyour heart.  James, whose background includes everything from musical theater to opera, and his talented wife Annie,  bring warmth and beauty to your favorite songs.  Chris rounds out the group with a fresh sense of fun.

The patriotic, semi-classical, rock-n-roll sounds of SunShade 'n Rain will cause a nostalgic stir in your heart.  They have headlined at Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and Grand Ole Opry.  They have also appeared on Good Morning America.  Performers include Gary Romer, Mel Teeples and Jeff Gregerson.  Not to be missed!
