Easter Cantata, “Love’s Greatest Gift”

An Easter Cantata, “Love’s Greatest Gift”, will be performed Saturday and Sunday, April 19 & 20, at 7:00 pm, at the Logan Tabernacle in a Celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Admission is free.
"Love's Greatest Gift" was co-written by Cecelia Benson, Karen Carter, and John Carter of Logan, Utah and based on a text by the late Hortense Richardson of Salt Lake City. The cantata will be conducted by John Carter with full orchestra and choir.
The text of this cantata begins where most other works leave off, at the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and follows through to His ascension into Heaven. The role of Mary will be sung by Heather Shepherd, a soprano residing in Atlanta Georgia, and the role of Christ will be sung by Christopher J. Carter, from Logan, Utah. Many other local soloists will be featured in the performance.
This year's performance will mark the 15th year that the work has been performed since 1996.
THE CONCERT AND LECTURE SERIES IS SPONSORED BY CACHE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AN INTERFAITH AND CIVIC ORGANIZATION, AND IS ALSO SPONSORED IN PART BY THE RAPZ TAX. THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ALLOWS FREE USE OF THE HISTORIC LOGAN TABERNACLE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
